3-channel video installation with sound, variable dimensions

The video installation shows a cyclical process of eating sunflower seeds.

The close-ups of the hand and mouth and a traditional bowl from the Turkish Black Sea region convey a physical closeness and intimacy. The hypnotic effect of the installation is created by the isolated sound recordings of each process, which stage a manic and excessive character of the cycle. The chronology of the individual video channels shifts, causing the sounds to overlap

This effect seems to disturb the aesthetics of the image and invites the viewer to re-create the usual course of events. The pitted shells collect and form into a symmetrical mass which apparently continues to grow.

In the exhibition room bowls with sunflower seeds were distributed, which could be consumed parallel to the installation.
